Description
Sunday 9 March, 10-4pm | £65 pp with lunch + wine
Swap your phone screen for a printing screen and lose yourself down a creative-printmaking-rabbithole. Enjoy lunch and a glass of sparkling wine, all set against the backdrop of our inspiring vineyard.
Your day begins in the Tasting Room where your tutor, Rachel, will introduce you to the hands-on process of screen printing over tea and coffee.
You’ll then take a self-guided walk around the vineyard and winery to gather inspiration from the landscape and incorporate your ideas into your prints.
Back in the Tasting Room, Rachel will guide you through basic design principles, helping you turn your sketches and photos into a final composition. You’ll then start the creative work of cutting stencils and experimenting with layering colours, bringing your design to life on a canvas tote bag.
At this point, you might be getting a bit peckish, so it’s time to enjoy a light lunch and a glass of Westwell sparkling wine.
Feeling inspired, you’ll return to your work, adding final touches and layering colours to achieve a finished print that captures Westwell through your own creative perspective.
Your day doesn’t have to end there, though. Complete your experience with an optional wine tasting at the preferential price of £10 per person.
Over 18s only.
What you need to know: All materials, printing equipment, lunch, and a glass of sparkling wine are provided. Your final print will be on a canvas tote bag. Please let us know of any dietary requirements at the time of booking. Non-alcoholic options are available. Please bring an apron or painting shirt, as well as a sketchbook and pencils.
Meet your tutor: Rachel Moore is a professional Kent-based artist and printmaker with over a decade of experience guiding both children and adults through the creative process. She has led workshops for clients ranging from the National Trust to Spotify. Rachel enjoys demystifying printmaking techniques, ensuring you’ll feel confident continuing to print at home.
Once booked, you'll receive initial confirmation, and closer to the day we’ll be in touch to let you know any relevant information about getting to us, what (if anything) you need to bring etc. This (and many of our other workshops) is also bookable as a gift - let us know in the notes and we can send out a beautiful workshop voucher to present to the recipient.
