Itineraries: 24 Hours in Kent
Visiting us from further afield and want to make a day of it? We’ve put together some itineraries that celebrate some of our favourite places in Kent.
Train to CANTERBURY
Lunch at The Goods Shed restaurant, sipping Pelegrim, Ortega, Skin Contact and BdB 13.
Visit to the Cathedral for some architecture appreciation.
English wine tasting, Pelegrim by the glass, our full range by the bottle and bottles to take away from Corkk (next-door to the Cathedral) to recover from all that education.
Hop back on the train to Margate from Canterbury West.
Dinner at Dory’s to enjoy Wootton Top, Ortega and Pelegrim by the glass.
After dinner drinks (and more Pelegrim) at Pomus.
Stay in one of the rooms at Angela’s.
Train to MARGATE
Pop down to Little Swift for take away picnic bits, a bottle of our bubbles (they stock all of them apart from PMMV so take your pick) and cross the road to the main sands to enjoy a grown up boozy picnic in (hopefully) some wonderful English sunshine.
Wander down past the harbour to the Turner Contemporary for some art.
Head back into the town centre via King Street for a spot of vintage shopping.
Stop in at the Carl Freedman Gallery for more art.
Pre-dinner drinks at Pomus.
Dinner at Angela's, Wootton Top, Ortega and Pelegrim by the glass.
Stay in one of the rooms at 42 Margate.
Train to DEAL
Brunch and a glass of Pelegrim at The Rose.
Wander down to Deal Pier, the last fully intact leisure pier in Kent, and take in the view of the Kent Coast from 250 meters out into the channel or for a bit of history, Deal Castle is one of the best Tudor castles in the country.
Shop at the many vintage and antique shops along the high street.
Don’t Walk Walk Gallery on the high street for modern art.
Dinner on Japanese small plates with glasses of our Pet Nat and still wines at The Blue Pelican.
Stay at either The Rose, or taxi out to Updown Farmhouse in nearby Sandwich for a more rural stay.
